Research Profile

Area of Interest

  • I am interested primarily in management of Hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases.Management of bile duct injuries/biliary strictures, intrahepatic stone disease, hepatic, biliary and pancreatic malignancies are areas of special interest. Chronic pancreatitis and its sequelae are a common problem in this part of the country. Along with surgical management of these patients,a thorough evaluation of pathophysiology of the disease and its genetic basis, necessary for improved patient management, will be an important focus of my clinical research. Another area of special interest is management of cases of Non cirrhotic portal hypertension and studying pathophysiological changes in splenoportal circulation in this group of patients.Apart from this, I will focus on diagnosis and proper management of upper GI diseases(both benign and malignant).
