Report on International Youth Day Celebration at AIIMS Mangalagiri, August 2025
Introduction: International Youth Day is observed annually on 12th August to recognize and celebrate the contributions of young people to society. To mark this occasion, AIIMS Mangalagiri organized a MedX Talk and a Debate Competition aimed at fostering awareness, knowledge sharing, and critical thinking among students and faculty.
Activity: MedX talk by Dr Antony Robert, Consultant Pediatric Surgeon , TedX and motivational speaker

The event commenced at 4:30 PM with a cultural program, soulful Veena rendition by an MBBS student Aditi setting a lively and engaging tone for the evening. This was followed by the highlight of the evening, The MedX Talk. Dr Robert shared valuable insights on contemporary medical challenges, with a special focus on mental health awareness, including ways to prevent depression and the importance of encouraging open communication and speech.
A Debate Competition on the topic “Are Competitive Exams a True Test of Ability or a Barrer to True learning” was conducted, encouraging participants to present their perspectives on the role of youth in driving transformation in the education landscape.
The event witnessed active participation from faculty and students, promoting knowledge exchange, communication skills, and leadership qualities. The session concluded at 6:30 PM with a vote of thanks and Prizes distribution to the winners and participants.
