The Department of Psychiatry, in collaboration with the Department of Community and Family Medicine (CFM), College of Nursing, and Hospital Administration, organized a series of awareness activities on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, observed on October 10, 2025.
The event commenced with the inauguration of the month-long observance of World Mental Health Day activities, emphasizing the importance of mental wellbeing among patients, students, and healthcare professionals.
As part of the activities held on October 10, 2025:
1. IEC materials and pamphlets on mental health awareness were distributed to patients and visitors.
2. Rangoli and poster competitions were organized, showcasing creative depictions of the importance of mental health.
3. A mime performance by the nursing students effectively conveyed messages on recognizing and addressing mental health issues.
4. A panel discussion by Postgraduate Nursing students highlighted key aspects of mental health promotion, stress management, and the role of community engagement.
5. On October 11, 2025, poetry night and reflection sessions were organized, with active participation from medical students. These sessions provided a creative platform for students to express their thoughts, emotions, and reflections on mental health, fostering empathy and awareness among peers.
