About the Department

• The Department of AYUSH, AIIMS Mangalagiri was established in the year 2026 with the aim of mainstreaming AYUSH and providing clinical services through different systems of AYUSH. The department currently comprises two regular Medical Officers from the streams of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy, committed to delivering high-quality integrative healthcare services.
• The department provides clinical care for patients with lifestyle disorders, autoimmune diseases, arthritis, piles, neuromuscular diseases, skin and hair disorders, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), and palliative care for cancer patients through evidence-based integrative approaches.
• Cross-referral of patients, collaborative treatment, and integrative patient care are the guiding principles of the department. The department is committed to providing preventive, promotive, and curative healthcare while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
• As part of its future development, the department plans to introduce specialty services including Panchakarma, Ksharasutra therapy for anorectal diseases, and Yoga services for health promotion and overall wellbeing. It also aims to foster interdisciplinary and integrative research through equitable knowledge sharing across all AYUSH systems.
• The department follows a patient-based learning approach and strives to establish a future-ready center that delivers comprehensive clinical services, promotes innovation, and advances integrative healthcare research.
