Observance of Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness day



‘Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness day’ is observed on 12th February globally, to raise awareness about sexual and reproductive health issues and to educate to reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections which  continues  to be one of the major public health concerns. The Dept. of OBG  at AIIMS, Mangalagiri conducted the following sessions in OPD block  to raise awareness about sexual and reproductive health issues, adhering to  the   recommended guidelines  for containing the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • ‘Sexual and Reproductive health’ – Health talk by OBG Faculty
  • ‘Contraception – Know your options’ presentation   by Nursing Officer
  • ‘View point’ on various aspects of  ‘Sexual and Reproductive health’ using pictorial charts presented by medical students:
    • Menstrual hygiene
    • Prevention of unsafe abortion
    • Access to modern contraception
    • Influence of information and communication technology on sexual behaviour

All these activities will go a long way in educating people about Sexual and Reproductive Health issues.
