REPORT ON WORLD HEARING DAY

The World Hearing Day was celebrated on 03/03/2023 with the theme “Ear and Hearing Care for All! Let’s Make It a Reality“.

The department of ENT conducted a series of activities to raise awareness on hearing loss and its prevention and early detection. A flash mob was conducted in the OPD registration area by the enthusiastic and energetic students of 2020 MBBS Batch with the idea to impart awareness on preventable hearing loss and screening of newborn hearing loss. The flash mob was followed by a series of talks by the students and faculty on various aspects of preventable causes for hearing loss and ear care. The session was well appreciated by the general public who interacted with the ENT faculty and clarified their doubts and questions.

The MBBS students of 2020 Batch also made colourful charts on the theme; which were put on display for the general public attending the AIIMS OPD.

A talk was also given by the faculty members and students in the OPD on various aspects of prevention of hearing loss particularly that of noise induced hearing loss. Awareness was spread regarding the importance of detection of hearing loss early and the need for hearing screening in the newborn babies.

A short movie on deafness was made by the students and was released for the public for creating awareness on deafness.
