WORLD ORAL HEALTH DAY – 2022 “ BE PROUD OF YOUR MOUTH”



Report of events- World Oral Health day- 2022.

Department name: Department of Dentistry.

Introduction-With support and permission from Director sir, guidance from administrative section,  Department of Dentistry celebrated World Oral Health day on 19th March 2022

World Oral Health Day was focused to empower people with the knowledge, tools and confidence to secure good oral health diseases, which affect individuals, health systems and economies everywhere.

Following 4 events were organized from the department.

 

No. 1- Event name- Display of video material on oral hygiene maintenance

Target population-Patients, attendants visiting Department Of Dentistry AIIMS, Mangalagiri

Venue – OPD TV OPD Waiting Area

Pre event objectives-

  • Enlighten about burden oral disease and provide preventive & therapeutic solutions.
  • Stress individuals on taking personal action regarding oral health.
  • Engage patients in a partnership with hospital for long term care.

Objectives achieved- All the above mentioned objectives were achieved.

 

No. 2- Event name- Demonstration of brushing methods,  Oral health education Lecture

Target population- Patients Attending OPD

Venue –OPD Waiting Area

Pre event  objectives-

  • Educate importance of brushing, impart knowledge about brush, paste, mouthwash, tongue scraping.
  • Demonstrate brushing techniques
  • Educate about Importance of oral hygiene in various population

Objectives achieved- All the above mentioned objectives were achieved.

No. 3- Event name- Display of Educational material on oral hygiene maintenance

Students of 2019 Batch and nursing officers contributed education material on oral hygiene maintenance in the form of posters.

Pre event objectives- To elicit the level of understanding following the previous event among the attendees.

As the theme for 2021-2023 is “Be Proud of Your Mouth”, we would like to continue celebrating the event in upcoming years.
