Anatomy is beyond bone and muscles, it is about mankind: How life begins and how human development occurs, how the variations occur because of adaptation to the given environment. Astute observation of macroscopic and microscopic structures, and their functions, and vice versa aid the students to understand the diseases and dysfunction in these structures.
The success of the department is implied by its faculty and staff who support various endeavors: transcendence in teaching and research. The Department imparts a great deal of knowledge to the First MBBS students in various disciplines of Anatomy by adopting robust teaching and learning methods such as Visible body, Google classroom, Crosswords puzzle through Google groups, weekly case-based questions, Problem based learning, seminar and integrated teaching.
“Mortui Vivos Docent” (L) – “The Dead teach the living”. The human cadaver plays an essential role in learning anatomy. The Department has ample cadavers for undergraduate medical teaching as well as for conducting cadaveric workshops.
